Depends. Nice for what? President McCain's advisers, you say? Yep, I'm sure they'd be really nice in that capacity.

The question is, what would McCain ask, and what would they answer?

I agree, I think it would be a nice ticket. I don't think it's going to happen, though. They're both -- to use the word yet again -- too nice. I think somebody's gotta be the heavy. In my experience, it always works that way: in both the children's choir I directed and the group I sang in in college, there had to be someone ready to be the no-nonsense, ready-to-discipline, authoritarian-type figure in place, in order that the director could be diplomatic and approachable. Love me some John Edwards, but I think Obama's going to need a bulldog. (PLEASE just don't let it be Hillary. OMG PLEASE.)

I don't think it's going to happen, either, but still.

I agree with the bulldog thing, too. Having said that, I'm thinking that Obama has teeth under all that nice. I'd make book on it (this is a GOOD thing, by the way).

Oh, yeah, I totally agree -- he's got teeth, and he'll totally use them in the appropriate circumstances. But he won't use them at times that a lot of other politicians would, like in the race against McCain, because he wants to change the way Washington operates. Unfortunately, Washington's not going to change overnight. It's going to be interesting to see if he delegates the tooth-and-claw Washington infighting to his veep, or if he tries to get his whole cabinet to steer completely clear of it.

Nope, and it's one reason I love Obama--he's starting out with baby steps, but you just KNOW he's going to keep on going with everything.

It's going to be interesting to see if he delegates the tooth-and-claw Washington infighting to his veep, or if he tries to get his whole cabinet to steer completely clear of it.

I think he'll have to do some of it, but I bet it'll be a lot less than the status quo.
