Soundtrack: Twist The Knife (Slowly) - Napalm Death
Join the Boston Sunday Night Film Club this Sunday, Jan 10th at 6:50p for Sherlock Holmes at the AMC Boston Common 19 . Look for Sean wearing a nametag in the theatre lobby about 15 minutes before the film. As always, after the film we will descend on a local establishment for dinner/drinks/discussion.
( Film Synopsis )I started a 'Boston Legal' marathon while I was off for 11 days for Winter break and I'm amazed by the fact that after repeated viewings... and I do mean repeated, I've watched these shows many times, this is still one of the finest, funniest, most intelligent shows ever produced. I mean I look at the unmitigated trash that permeates TV these days. Ten thousand reality shows, idiotic series that have not one iota of intelligence... and on and on, and I'm grateful for the occasional gem like 'Boston Legal'.
I had my cable turned off. I won't waste my time or my money on the garbage dump that TV has turned into. I just buy DVDs of the shows I love and watch them that way. For my money? TV sucks.
I just got Season Five of Boston Legal yesterday. I really can't wait to watch it, even tho my heart aches to think that it is the last season.
At Dragon*Con, Shatner made it very clear how upset he was that the show had been canceled. Nimoy remarked that he was, yet again, nominated for an Emmy for his performance as Denny Crane. Shatner said he had his acceptance speech all written out. He was going to say: "This will make the perfect plaque to hang on the tombstone of a dead TV show."
Say what you want about Shatner. He has created two of the most remarkable characters of the past century in Jim Kirk and Denny Crane. I love him.
Consumer Breakfast Buffet Show 2010
Posted inI'm sure the first day of CES will be one thrill after another and all that, but I was surprised and delighted to discover that CES is happening almost simultaneously with CBBS - The Consumer Breakfast Buffet Show. After quickly editing my credentials with a Sharpie, I snuck in for a look at this year's hottest trends in breakfast buffets.
The Pecan Roll booth featured breakthroughs in 3D imaging. As you can see, these tasty pastries seem to leap right off the plate! You're going to see a distinct drop in sugar-to-bloodstream load times as well. Could this be the doughnut killer?...
The new Sprinkle Nano fits the same sweet sprinkly taste everyone has come to know and love into an even smaller package. The best news is the more miniscule offering sacrifices nothing in terms of color or shape!
The Yogurt Booth was sadly underwhelming. Blueberries? Granola add-ons? What is this, 1995? Rumor was that this year we might see the fabled "Injectable Yogurt" we keep hearing about. Sigh. Maybe 2011.
Maybe it's ahead of its time. Maybe it's the next Betamax. Only time will tell, but breakfast eggrolls left us feeling cold.
No CBBS would be complete without a stop by the cereal booth for some swag!
Literally no one attended this booth for the duration of the show.
The Pork booth had an interesting take on an old favorite. This year's "Just a Giant Hunk of Meat" display really won the crowd over. Note the portable slices and kielbasa links for multi-platform compatibility.
These shows are all about the newest, shiniest stuff on display; and you don't get much shinier than a Chocolate-Covered Cinnamon Roll. This shot gives a size comparison to competitors like the cupcake and doughnut holes. While it remains to be seen just which provider will be carrying the hot new breakfast app of the year, we'll be purchasing one either way.
Some insiders said Cakes' big push for a place at the breakfast buffet table is ill-advised, but it's tough to argue with German Chocolate Cake with your Eggs. The best part of waking up is frosting in our cup!
This year's show brought out the biggest name in the business: Bacon. Not much has changed, but really, what would you change? This year's offering was slightly less crispy than the past, and to be honest we were big big fans of the sog. Sadly though, it still won't work with your iPhone.
Despite all the rumors, there was no big announcement from Apples.
Our CES 2010 blog coverage: it isn't just for breakfast anymore. It never was, really.
to compare, we humans have only done like 1/1250th of a galactic orbit since we first evolved: dinos

Rush Limbaugh's girlfriend, Kathryn Rogers, gave Page2Live an inside account of the radio host's heart scare.
Rogers first heard about the incident, which occurred during a Hawaii vacation, while she was getting her nails done with her mother.
"Due to Rush's [hearing loss], we don't often speak over the phone, more via e-mail and text," Rogers said in an email. "When I saw that he was calling, I thought that's weird he never calls. I answered with my one free hand. Rush said 'Kate, I think I'm having a heart attack!' in a very stressed tone. I hung up, pushed back the nail table and yelled to my mom: 'Rush is having a heart attack! Call 911!'"
She explained that while Limbaugh did not have a heart attack, doctors told her that the quick arrival of paramedics played a major role. She described the experience as "extremely scary."
A cardiologist who treated Limbaugh made the same point: "Time is very, very important, and the sooner you can get to the medical care for your heart, the sooner we know what the problems are and the sooner we can treat it."
Rogers, a 33-year-old Florida party planner, has been dating the 59-year-old Limbaugh since 2007.

I tried to google image it but i only found some gymnastic photos.
It's from Roald Dahl's Lamb to the Slaughter.
As always, thank you for your help.
Pairing: Ryan/Brendon
Length: The series in total is probably well over 100, 000 words.
Author on LJ:
Author Website: None.
Why this must be read:
This story was one of my first loves in bandom - along with a few others, it was the story that really got me into bandom, P!ATD, and Ryan/Brendon. It made me cry, which is, oddly enough, something that makes me love a story. It's also one that, despite the epic length, I read over and over again, and never get tired of. It also has a happy ending, which is fantastic. Also, the sex is really hot. This writer is by far one of the best in bandom, and all her stories, not just this one, are worth reading. EVEN IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHO THESE PEOPLE ARE YOU SHOULD READ THIS SERIES. IT IS THAT GOOD.
Link - this goes to the last part in the series, which also doubles as the master post
