I definitely will be attending this. Anyone else interested in going?
I'll probably go to the noon concert and then hang around until the service. I'm especially interested in the forum put on by Sept. 11. Families for Peaceful Tomorrows.
I've admired the courage of this group since I first heard of them about a year after 9/11. The group is a great answer to those people who yell "9/11! 9/11"! as a reason for the US indiscriminately dropping bombs on people (as well as the ubiquitous reason for practically anything they can think of). This group's answer to all that seems to be basically, "Not in our name, you don't!"
Not to mention that the Beneficent Congregational Church is a cool place to be. They may look like a preachy-preachy place, but they're not. They're nonsexist, nonracist, pretty much pacifist (I've attended an interfaith antiwar rally there), and are an Open and Affirming congregation (which looks a lot like the UUA's Welcoming Congregation Program).
