How I feel about it all: cheerfulYay!
Soundtrack: Nothing, my speakers aren't working
Thanks to my sainted mum, who offered me a loan, I now am the very happy owner of this computer and this monitor.

I'm so excited. I thought the monitor was 17" when I bought it. D00d, it's 19", which is why my retinas are slightly fried.

My computer, for those who care, is called Cuthbert. That's pronounced "KYOUTH-bert". I still plan to get my ailing Laptopl (that's it's name--it's a god in the Aztec pantheon, of course! Well, a goddess. Laptopl is decidedly female).

You have no idea how close this computer came to being known as Eddie Cantor Dean.

Harry Potter

1. The character you first fell in love with:

HarryandDraco, pretty much simultaneously. Harry for who he is and Draco for who he could be. *sigh*

2. The character you never expected to love as much as you do now:

Snape. I have a platonic crush on him. He's that cool.

3. The character everyone else loves that you don't:

Dumbledore. I think he's manipulating Harry as much as Voldemort, even though it's for "the side of light", whatever that means. I think he means well, but. Not so much with the Dumbledore loff.

4. The character you love that everyone else hates:

Draco. Now, I know there are zillions of Draco fangirls, but the actual Draco, the bratty, scaredy cat bully of canon, is the character I came to love before I ever knew there was a fandom!Draco.

5. The character you used to love but don't any longer:

I guess I'd have to say Sirius. He was a real dick to everyone in OotP. I don't hate him, and yes, I cried when, well, you know. But I'm not all awww, Sirius anymore. Unless Remus is involved, then, yes, because ohhh, Remus....

Dark Tower

1. The character you first fell in love with:

Jake, Jake, Jake, Jake. Eddie too, but Jake. *unending adoration*

2. The character you never expected to love as much as you do now:

Roland. Of course I've always liked him, but after The Dark Tower. How could I not adore him?

3. The character everyone else loves that you don't:

Susan Delgado. Eh. I'd rather see Roland with Cuthbert. Even though Wizard and Glass made me bawl my eyes out at That Part.

4. The character you love that everyone else hates:

Hmm, this is a hard one. Probably Flagg, although I don't know that I'd reach enough to say I love him. He's a great character, though.

5. The character you used to love but don't any longer:

There isn't one.

The X-Files

1. The character you first fell in love with:

Mulder, although my ultimate XF love is Alex, Alex, Alex.

2. The character you never expected to love as much as you do now:

The Well-Manicured Man. After the movie, I became a fan.

3. The character everyone else loves that you don't:

Walter Skinner. I find him boring.

4. The character you love that everyone else hates:

Hmm. Mrs. Mulder, maybe. I feel bad for her. Maybe not love, but I certainly don't hate her.

5. The character you used to love but don't any longer:

Again, I really don't think that I have one.

Babylon 5:

1. The character you first fell in love with:

Delenn, of course. *crushes still*

2. The character you never expected to love as much as you do now:

Kosh. Even after All was Revealed, I grew to love him. And I so ship Lyta/Kosh. *waves OTP banner*

2. The character you never expected to love as much as you do now:

Ivanova. She was okay when I watched the show originally, but in reruns I've come to really appreciate her. Especially after she left, because the person who replaced her? Sucked.

3. The character everyone else loves that you don't:

I really don't know.

4. The character you love that everyone else hates:

Morden. I'm oddly drawn to him.

5. The character you used to love but don't any longer:

Lennier. I dunno, he's okay, but I'm not all, awww, Lennier anymore.

Hey, congratulations!! And may I give you the official welcome from the Organization for the Promotion of Individuality Among Things Exanimate (OPIATE -- I really mean "inanimate," but it fucks up the acronym). My computer Orson, my truck Orlando, my coffee maker David, my cell phone Joe Also, and my wing chair Alistair all send their greetings to Cuthbert and promise to never mispronounce his name.

Dude, have you read The Dark Tower? You must have. You have to have. Right?

Silly woman, of course I have! (Okay, actually, I still haven't read Wizard and Glass or anything that comes after it. *hangs head, slinks away*)

Okay, you know I have to respond to Babylon 5, because I know everyone else will hit the others ...

1. First character in love with: Sheridan, of course. Still in love. Can't help it. Delenn rocks, though.

2. Character I never expected to love as much as I do now: G'Kar. His evolution is fantastic. And I love how his relationship with Londo evolved by the end of five years. Londo is a close runner-up on this category: the tragic aspects of his character and his deep sense of loss and aloneness get to me just a little more each time.

3. Character I didn't expect to love so much: IVANOVA!!! Yes! She gets better in every viewing. I also loved Kosh's ship. Its depth of feeling moves me.

4. Character everyone else loves that I don't: there were a few visiting actors on various episodes I really hated. One or two I thought couldn't act their way out of a paper bag. Otherwise, like you, I'm not sure. I did hate the second Vorlon Ambassador.

5. Character I love that everyone else hates: Morden wins, of course, for his Rod Serling vibe. And Emperor Cartagia gets points for being too, too.

6. Character you used to love but don't any longer: Nope. Still love 'em all.

(from Erebor at work, where I never actually log on)

Re characters I hate: how could I forget Bester? I hate this character. But I can never figure out if it's because Walter Koenig plays him so well or so poorly.

I actually like Bester. Well, not in that fuzzy puppy like way, but. He's so emotionally damaged it ain't funny. I like that in a character.

OMG, I love G'Kar. He's my second favourite--well, he might be tied with Delenn, really.

And bleh on the second Vorlon Ambassador. "We are all Kosh" my arse.

Q: How many Vorlons does it take to change a light bulb?

A: Yes.

The avalanche has started; it's too late for the lightbulbs to vote.
