How I feel about it all: awakeawake
Soundtrack: Air conditioner chugging right along

Jo says, "Dumbledore's guesses are never very far wide of the mark."

So...I say this means whan he says he trusts Snape completely, he's pretty close to being right.

Whad'y'all think?

I agree with you, and it is eleven in the morning here, and I haven't drunk so much as coffee yet. *dashes off after caffeine fix*

I think Dumbledore wins the cup for the Closest to the Writer's Avatar--and that's not a slam. I think JKR is clearly signaling, heck, putting up 10 foot tall neon signs, that All Is Not As It Seems re Snape.

Also, my further thoughts are that in a mystery novel, you can't be SURE someone is dead and gone until DNA tests come back from a reputable lab. In fantasy, all bets are off. Way back in the day, on first reading, I WAILED over Gandalf taking the high dive with the Balrog....

Yes! I just finished reading last night, and I'm feeling pretty strongly that Snape got cornered into that Unbreakable Vow thing, and maybe even talked it over with Dumbledore, and Dumbledore maybe even told him to go ahead and do it, after he'd had a chance to tell Harry everything he needed to tell him - hard as it was to lose Dumbledore, I'll bet he thought it was more useful to the Order to have a mole in the DEs, even if no one else trusted that Snape was still on their side. Or maybe Dumbledore will even have left a letter explaining? Hmm.

I dunno. D'you think that JKR would use the U.V. twice? Hmmm. Could be, though. I defnitely think the reason he killed DD was because of the U.V. he took with Narcissa.

I've been thinking that Snape took an Unbreakable Vow to obey Dumbledore no matter what, which is why Dumbledore never blinked an eye at rumors of betrayal.

I started listening to the cd's yesterday on my commute, and got to chapt 2, and realized that Bellatrix does not trust Snape. She's a crafty little witch isnt' she? Anyway, Snape tells them that DD's getting old, and feeble; I'm sure Snape told DD about the vow, and I wonder if he decided to make a pact with Snape, that he kill DD instead of Draco. DD told Harry in SS/PS that death was only the next great adventure. I'm sure he, like Flamel, got his "things in order" and prepared to die. I have a feeling that Snape has probably taken Draco somewhere safe, away from Voldything. Of course, Narcissa did ask Snape to 'do the thing' if Draco couldn't, so, we'll see. OOoooo! I know I've been moaning aobut my ship, but, I can't wait for #&!!!! :)
