Jimmy Carter says Gore won 2000 election.

And...I didn't realise that Carter founded FEMA. Woah.

I love the way Carter's gloves are coming off recently. As the president, he was so diplomatic that I don't think we would ever have heard such a raw comment from him. But I respect Jimmy Carter pretty tremendously, and I'm glad to hear his views. I didn't know Carter founded FEMA either -- the mishandling of the agency must've been a crushing disappointment to him personally.

I hope I get more vocal like that when I get older. I also think that Jimmy says what he thinks is the truth.

One of the best things about him is the fact that he's a real Christian. He actually tries to live the teachings of Jesus. Pat Robertson should take notes. On second thought, they're not even in the same league. Pat just wouldn't understand.

On second thought, they're not even in the same league. Pat just wouldn't understand. AMEN. The fact that Carter lives out his faith in social justice is probably the primary reason I admire the man. Every Christian should take notes from him.

I hope I get more vocal as I get older, too. One thing I've learned in life is that there is a time and place for diplomacy, and there is a time and place for outspokenness. I believe that, if you've correctly apprehended the former, you will be taken seriously when the time comes for the latter. Carter's living proof.

I've always liked Jimmy. I once got into a huge argument with someone who kept saying he was an asshole. How can anyone say Jimmy Carter, of all the politicians in the world, is an asshole???

That's just silly. Even people who didn't like him politically never say he's an asshole. That's like calling Mother Theresa a bitch or something. It's just preposterous. Geez.

None of our later presidents can hold a candle to Jimmy Carter.

Maybe Clinton in effectiveness--he got a heck of a lot done. But for integrity and sincerity and a big heart, you can't beat Jimmy. And after all, it's because of him that Israel and Egypt aren't at each other's throats anymore.

Go Jimmy! Maybe he's getting more free with his opinions in his old age. I <3 grumpy old men. ;)

He's amazing. I need to meet him. I'll be in GA in March; hopefully Jimmy will be at home in Plains.

I KNEW there was a reason he's my favorite!

Mine, too! :)

It's debatable that he wasn't the most effective President, but he sure was the most honest. And um. Who else could have made the Camp David accords happen? The only one I can think of is Bill Clinton, who happens to be my second favourite! *gg*

No worries. I just wanted to make sure you did get it since Willow didn't get a card I'd mailed at the same time. Hysterical, yeah?

You're coming to TWH, yeah? I'm looking forward to meeting you!
