How I feel about it all: sadsad
Soundtrack: Pete Seeger - If You Miss Me at the Back of the Bus
RIP, dear Rosa.

I knew it was coming (dementia being progressive and incurable) but I'm so, so sad.

She was truly the woman who started an avalanche.

Go with your God, dear one. *weeps*

Dear Lord, that is sad - as you say, not unexpected, but sad nonetheless.

Somehow it seems slightly appropriate that I happened to be listening to "Sweet Black Angel" by the Stones when I read this 10 minutes ago.

She'd probably like it.

Because she was. :)

Rosa and Helen, both heroes of mine.

I wonder if they ever met. They'd have been kindred spirits, I think. I think they might just meet sometime soon. *loves, loves*

She was. And what a legacy she's left.

If I could arrange for such a thing, I'd see to it that every public bus, or perhaps every public conveyance keep the seat immediately behind the driver empty, save for a single rose, for the next year, with a sign saying simply: "Thank you, Rosa Parks."

Oh, what a good idea.

Wonderfully sympbolic gesture, but I wonder what she would think; in many cities transportation is so crowded that people have to stand beause the seats are all taken. I can't imagine Rosa would want people to avoid her seat.

Maybe a plaque or tag on the seat itself?

Yes. It would also be longer-lasting than a flower.
