Soundtrack: Elton John - Burn Down the Mission
EEE!

Elton's official site has a video message from Captain Fantastic hisself. Guess what he says? He's going to be doing the music for the musical version of The Vampire Lestat. Guess who's doing the lyrics!!!11!!1!!!

Bernie. I am over the dad-blasted moon.

I must see this. *fangirls so pathetically it'd make you puke*

The musical version of the Vampire Lestat? Must see! Where, when?

Don't know anything else than what it says in the vid on the site. I'll check around later, though.

Babe, you know I get the psychotic music geekage! I'm not into Elton *that* much, but am thrilled you're getting a fix of something you love so much.

d00d, I've loved him since childhood. No, not like that. *g* More of a hero thing, him and Bernie both.

My only lament is that Elton and Bernie were never EltonandBernie, because that would've entirely rocked.

Hey! While I'm not inclined to go fangirl over Sir Elton or Bernie, even I'm psyched to hear this one. I'm thinking The Vampire Lestat will make an excellent musical, in the Goth tradition of the ubiquitous Phantom, and I'm thinking Elton & Bernie can capture Lestat's flamboyance and dignity. Fun!

I'm keeping my eyes out. And really, for me, it's both of them or none. Elton's stuff isn't the same without Bernie. That's probably why I like the classic stuff best.

OMG

Dude, I saw your comment to taradiane with the cover of the Elton John album on it and thought, OhMyGod, I'm not the only big EJ/BT fan in the HP fandom?!?

w00t. I've loved him since I was a kid and the very best concert I ever went to was when he and Billy Joel performed here.

*friends you*

(PS, I'm an H/D shipper too. XD)

Yay! Nope, there's at least two of us. *g*

I've looked for Elton/Bernie stuff, never found any. Maybe some things are just sacred. Elton and Bernie were never EltonandBernie, after all. Still, go read the lyrics of some stuff off Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy, and it makes you go hmmm...

It's funny you say that because I've always suspected that in the beginning, when they were still room mates, and Elton was just starting to realize his sexuality, that he had a crush on Bernie.

But, I think in the long run it's probably a good thing they were never together as a couple. I think their friendship is so special as it is that if they'd had some sort of romance and it didn't work out (and I dont' think it would have because Bernie's straight and if they'd been togeter I think he would have only done it for Elton's sake and a relationship can't work in the long run like that, ya know?) and then we wouldn't have one of the world's greatest song writing teams!

But on the other hand ... there is stuff that can be pulled from Captain Fantastic and the Dirt Brown Cowboy isn't there ...

I haven't listened to that in ages, I should go pull it out ...

Gah, I just realized that reads like I'm trying to say that the stuff people say is on CF&TBDC is there isn't there. That's not what I meant to imply at all. I meant to imply Oh yeah, there is stuff on that album, isn't there?

Silly me.

There certainly is. And it was Bernie who wrote the words. *g*
