Picspam from the new Passchendaele trailer under the cut.

This is Michael.

He's unnaturally pretty a soldier with the Canadian Corps:

He may also be a bit of a dork:

This is Sarah. She's a nurse:

Michael likes her:

She likes him, too:

Eventually they fall in love:

They do lots of things together, like ride horses:

Sometimes they just sit together and watch Alberta be pretty:

But all is not bliss, because there's this war going on:

Canada is fighting in the war:

...and Michael is a loyal Canadian soldier:

Even so, Michael doesn't want to leave:

That's not accurate:

He doesn't want to leave Sarah:

She doesn't want him to leave, either:

Inevitably, Michael goes off to Belgium to fight with the Canadians:

...at Passchendaele, where there are cannons, and it rains and rains and rains and rains, and there is mud:

Michael gets quite muddy:

...not to mention drenched:

For reasons that don't need exploring at this juncture, Sarah visits Michael at the front lines:

He's plenty glad to see her:

...and she seems to stay for a while:

...but alas, we won't know if their love will triumph until the fall.

Paul is pretty! (duh) I adore the smile in the fourth one down and that last one under muddy where he's just such a gorgeous mess And Jaye from Wonderfalls! I always forget that she is in this and she is also pretty. So far this movie is getting full marks in pretty points. Which, yay.

She is very pretty. Alberta is veryvery pretty. Passchendaele is pretty muddy, which isn't so pretty, but since Paul is preternaturally pretty the pretty points get to stay.

Thus ends our alliteration lesson for today.

The trailer made me cry! Of course, I could be a tad biased...

I'm crossing my fingers that it will be at TIFF. Otherwise I'll have to make yet another trip to Canada. Oh, teh hardship.

I have, as you know, no real opinion vis-a-vis Paul. Your entry's title, on the other hand... well, just for the record, um... I do. Or at least, I would.

Yeah, that's substantive.

Dude. You have to watch the trailer. ;)

HOW is he still so pretty? It's almost unbelievable at this point. And yet here is empirical evidence. Thank you for sharing these!

HOW is he still so pretty?

I DO NOT KNOW.

And the thing is, it's not because he looks 25. It's because he's 49 and STILL PRETTY.

Ah, man, that bedroom scene with the two of them is lit beautifully! I quite liked her in "Wonderfalls," so I'm looking forward to seeing her opposite Paul in this. *yearns for Fall*

The lighting is gorgeous. Also, I want to know how they got on the floor.

I should watch Wonderfalls. I've been meaning to even before I knew who was cast for Passchendaele. It sounds like something I'd like.

He's going to completely devastate me in and with this film. He owns me already.

When can we start lobbying the Academy Awards?

I think it's one of the best movie trailers around. Whee!

The WHEN is sometime this fall. It was supposed to be Remembrance Day (Nov. 11), but I've heard rumours that it's been moved up to some time around Thanksgiving (Oct. 13 this year in Canada).

The actual plot will likely be much more exciting than the ersatz narrative. It was fun anyway, though. *g*

Hee! Another movie written by, directed by and starring PG! Is there music by PG as well?

(I mock because I love, and because he is the prettiest thing ever.)

Nah, the music is by someone else. One can't do everything, after all. *loves*
